Santa Clara - the undiscovered city

We recently sold our house in Santa Clara, and upgraded to a larger house, with a bigger yard, in a better school district. Our new neighborhood is upscale, with private homes, kid-friendly streets, and nicer neighbors. It is a bedroom community - but with easy and quick access to shopping and other amenities.

Yet, we miss the low power bills of Santa Clara, the better recycling facilities, the Santa Clara City Library, the Triton Museum, the Youth Activity Center, the International Swim Center, the many, many parks, and various other city services that were a stone's throw from our house.

In the quest for good schools, Santa Clara is a city falls low on South Bay real estate market ranking. However, even with private school tuition added to the monthly expense, one can't probably get a better value for money elsewhere in the bay area - especially for a starter home.

Bye-bye Santa Clara. We will always love you.
